Ritual is powerful but the ongoing work of holding the magic is essential.
For me this process of rooting new inner agreements and beliefs includes lots of post-it notes. I need visual reminders. I put my new agreements on my desk and I put reminders in random places that I will run across through out my day and week. In my wallet, on random days in my 2022 day planner, my dresser, its a fun game of hide and find with myself that helps me stay connected to what I am growing within myself.
What helps you in rooting in new agreements and beliefs?

If I were really asked to define myself, I wouldn’t start with race; I wouldn’t start with blackness; I wouldn’t start with gender; I wouldn’t start with feminism. I would start with stripping down to what fundamentally informs my life, which is that I’m a seeker on the path. I think of feminism, and I think of anti-racist struggles as part of it. But where I stand spiritually is, steadfastly, on a path about love.
May we all have the courage to strip down to love.

I love a good conversation that illuminates, educates, and has me do the squirmy work of looking at my own ignorance and blind spots. This was one. The interviewers were a bit cringe, but Alok is a treasure of brilliance and humanity. If want more understanding of the necessity non-binary gender expression in our world, listen and let mercy and love lead the way.
