January 14, 2022
Hello there,
These early, now mid, days of January have me wanting to curl up and hold tight to a kind of dreamy state of engagement with the world. Am I wanting to escape the conflicts and chaos of living, or am I wanting to connect into the way the world wants to dream us, dream life? I don't know, probably both. Either way here are a few things that have kept me dreamy and dreaming.
1.
Numi Rooibos Chai. Oh, it's been cold and foggy and I've been wanting lots of hot tea but afternoon caffeine is not a good idea if I want any chance of sleeping and dreaming. For me, afternoon tea needs to be hardy, deep with flavor that doesn't get lost in the milk and sugar. I have
been challenged to find a decaf black tea that didn't leave me feeling let down. While not a black tea but an herb native to South Africa, this rooibos chai checks all the boxes for a satisfying afternoon cuppa.

If you've been around for awhile you know I love emotions and the wisdom they hold for us. I dream of a world where emotions are understood not feared, honored not rejected. A part of how I work towards that is my course Empathy and Self-Care. I am teaching it again beginning January 31. This 4 week class is all about finding space and learning
skills to tend to your precious self and to the world, grounded, present, and willing. I would love to have you join me if this speaks to you.

I did a little thing that feels like a big thing. I've been writing a lot of poetry for a while now. While I am not educated or learned in any kind of formal way, poetry has grown to be more and more a part of my creative expression. So, to further my journey to share my creativity more publicly I've created a little space on Instagram for just this. So far I am only
following myself, but hopefully that will soon change.

A blessing for your week:

May you face life with the conviction of your heart and strength of your spirit.
