Sometimes the medicine needed as we make our way in messy lives and complicated times is the silly and trivial. Sometimes it is a reminder that humans are tender when there is so much evidence our brutality. This week I have sought the trivial, silly, as well as the tender because they heal. I added some bits of dark humor also, because laughter heals too.
Here is some of what has been feeding my spirit. I hope you enjoy and are sparked to find your own moments of silly, trivial, tenderness.
1. So trivial, yet it makes me laugh each time I watch it, which has been an embarrassing amount.
3. Tender, honest, and just the thing to remind us of the sweetness and angst of first love. Heartstopper on Netflix is wonderful.
4. Very, very loving and silly and tender, with a darkly comedic edge. Dick Johnston is Dead, also on Netflix (yes I have been using screen therapy a lot recently) is a documentary of a daughter and father coming to terms with his nearing death by staging different ways he dies. Have tissue, and not just because shows and loss and grief but because it shows intimacy
and love.
5. A blessing for your week:
