Hello there,
Wow things have been hot, Hot, HOT in my corner of the world. We are experiences a
record breaking heat wave both in temperatures and duration. 115 degrees (46 degrees Celsius) on Tuesday over 100 degrees most of the last week. These parts are not built for that kind of heat so things have been sticky and drippy here. Staying cool and hydrated has been the priority. Nether my brain nor body function well in the heat so I've been doing my best to work early and take the afternoons off. I'm liking the rhythm if not the reason.
Here is this week's list of tiny and not so tiny things. I hope it gives you something small and interesting for your week.
1. The Queen Elizabeth has died. There are so many things to say, to reflect on, to morn. It is the end of an era. At times like this when the event is so huge and the emotions are so strong I go to the mythologists and storytellers to help my heart understand. I reach to those who can weave context and meaning from events from eyes
that holds nuance, complexity, humanity reaching back to the beginning, and soul. This from Clarissa Pinkola Estes gives a yet/and context that helps my heart hold the paradox this queen, human and monarch, walked through history.
4.
Kncklybump Farms. Yes, another social media account. What can I say. It's been hot and I have no shame in using scroll therapy to get me through it. My day is not complete without checking in on Emmanual the Emu, Rico the cranky swan, Mable and her new calf Malcolm, and the other inhabitants of this eclectic farm lovingly shared with all of us. There is pure goodness in the world.
5.
A blessing for your week:
