five things friday: cozy season, wild souls, hippo blessings

Hello there,

We had honest to goodness, real rain last weekend. It was glorious! We don't usually get September rain but given the recent heart wave, ongoing severe drought, and fire season, it was nice to know the sky still knows how to water this brown earth. It was a nice way to usher in the shift of seasons.

Here are some other things am enjoying this week as we shift into fall. Please enjoy.

1.
With Fall Equinox, aka the beginning of cozy season, having happened yesterday may all things pumpkin and spice, cozy and nice commence! The light may now move into being less then the dark, but oh how glorious it is!

2.
Even though fall in these parts can come with some toasty days, the rain officially opened soup making and bread baking season. After a long stint in the back of the refrigerator I pulled out Bill, my trusty starter, and baked my first loaf of sourdough in many months. I would show you a picture because it really was pretty, but we gobbled it up too fast!

Next time I bake again it will be paired with this. I am a huge fan of a good white bean soup.

Yup, fall dreaming is alive and well!

My friend wrote a book. A really good book. A Wild Soul Woman uses the archetypes of landscape, personal story and myth to explore the feminine soul and discovering our wild self. I've been in the self-help/spiritual world a really long time. It is not often I see something unique that brings me a new way to discover and come home to myself. I don't mean to imply I know everything, not by a long shot, but when you've been around as many self-help and spiritual blocks as I have you know some things and seen many more. Finding something that is not just more of the same and invites deep soul tending is exiting and so welcomed.

4.
