Little did I know as I was putting the finishing touched on last week's five things that in a few hours I would be down with Covid. That as I was writing the opportunistic virus was already ramping up in my system. My only useful wisdom here is to do your best not to get infected even though there are no guarantees you wont, and if you are, do your best to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
Comfort is powerful. It is essential. It is generative. It is kind.
What are the comforts and kindnesses you are extending yourself? Here are some of mine- Covid edition. Enjoy.
1.
Watermelon, smoothies, and popsicles. These were only thing I could eat the first few fever filled days, and are still my favorites right now. Cold, juicy, refreshing, even though I have lost my sense of smell and taste. My mind tries to worry over nutritional balance and sugar content but my body knows staying cool and hydrated is most important. Sure enough after my fever broke the rest of my appetite is slowly returning and reasonable
nutritional balance as well. Wise things, our bodies.
2.
Let people help. Self reliance and individualism are virtues of limited usefulness.
3.
Cough up the gunk. I am at the stage where my lungs are expelling all sorts of gross stuff. I love it! The body knows how to get rid of what is harmful and waht it doesn't need. As Shrek would say, "Better out than in." Again, our wise bodies. Goes for life too. What gunk needs to go?
4.
Rest is never wasted. Indulge. I could say so much about this, but rest is calling and I am listening.
5.
A blessing for your week:
