Hello there,
One of my life challenges, quests, journeys, (it feels like all of these in random
rotation) is to find a life rhythm that matches my energy. I'm not a high energy, always on the go person. I like leisure and rest. I like space in my day. More meandering, less express. It is a different rhythm than the hustle and grind dominant culture's.
Nothing wrong with a good hustle and there are times you need to grind it out but not all the time, at least for this gal. This is something that gets labeled lazy, low motivation, under achieving, and not just from the outside. I've used these labels to bludgeon myself pretty well over the years.
Okay, so there is a lot to unpack here but my point is you can have a different pace than those around you, whether that is faster, quieter, louder, slower, more rational, more emotional... without lacking anything you need for the fulfillment you want. In fact if you are truly honoring yourself you will do things differently than the generic expectations the mysterious "They" would have you hold
too.
Too much of the mysterious "They" has been in my ear of late so I've been self-realigning to my own rhythm and pace.
In case you want some self-realignment of your own I offer some questions as a place to start. Think of them as magical sparks that can grow and light your way back to yourself.
1.
What is exhausting you? This will clue you in to what is demanding more time and energy than you have.
2.
What is nourishing you? This will point you towards the kinds of self-care work for you.
3.
How are your emotions? When you know how to listen to what your emotions want for you, even the ones you don't like or wish were not here, you will find your alignment not someone else's. (If you want support
a DEI Consultation is worth considering.)
4.
How is your support system? Community can be a tricky thing, but healthy relationships will keep us tethered to our authentic selves, love us back to our aligned essence, and support the changes we want to
make.
5.
A blessing for your
week:
