Hello there,
It seems the idea of "lolling about" has some resonance. The open rate on last week's
thoughts was higher than usual and I received more personal messages back, which were delightful, thank you. I love hearing from you, so please don't be shy about hitting the reply button and sharing some of your life's magic with me.
I hope this week
brings you goodness and delights in expected and unexpected ways.
1. I am continuing to explore lolling. Especially how to keep a sense of languid spaciousness so fitting these long days of summer
when life is full of Very Important Things for the next two months.
Slow evening walks usually do the trick. Oh, that
light!
2.
This from Oliver Burkeman's newsletter ,The Imperfectionist, spoke to me. Sometimes the way to more productivity and enjoyment and loll time is less. Much less. I have found this is true in my own of balancing the need to get things done and the desire for a well lived, beautiful, savored life inside the overwhelm and the swirl of living.
I know not everyone can have a 4 hour work day as he has done, even temporarily, but there is usually more room to do less and have more than we may realize.
I really like the frame of having strong boundaries around how much work is allowed each day vs. how much work can be, needs to be, must be done each day. It is a different perspective on priorities and what is really urgent and necessary.
Bottom line, you deserve all the gifts, pleasures, and power available when you know how to care for the wilds of your emotions and the tenderness of your empathy. This world needs and
deserves you well cared for, beautifully boundaired, deeply feeling.
4.
Are you on Threads? I know. No one needs another social media site. I don't need another social media site. But I'm there. If you are too let's connect, @sandidavis4 (same as Instagram).
5.
A blessing for your week:
