Hello there,
I come to you with no Black Friday offer, but lots of good wishes for your nourishment, safety, and belonging. I have no profound wisdom for how to solve the
paradox of living in this fractured, glorious world, except to live in it. In the complexity, in the grief, rage, gratitude, joy, beauty, and hope of it all. This is love. Being in the all of life and still reaching out to it with an open heart.
I
have a very simple five things this week. Things to keep my heart open to the all of living as holiday season hits with full velocity. I hope they add to the tender openness of your heart, or give you ideas of what would.
What keeps your heart
tender and open? Here are some of mine right now.
1.
Following my emotions. They are valid what ever they are. They have wisdom to share. They may be complicated, just like the
world. Just naming them is surprisingly helpful. If yours need support, please reach out.
2.
Look for signs of a good enough next step. Not the
perfect one, or the right one, or the one that will fix it all. Just the next good enough one. I am stopped so often by waiting for perfection when what I need is good enough.
3.
Opportunity does not (hardly ever anyway) equal urgency. 'Tis the season of grand sales dressed in a panic of false urgency. I become very aware of what I don't have and loose track of what I do. It is the volume of offers and things that overwhelms. Opportunity increases the feeling of abundance and choice, it does not diminish it so I look for that.
My wish for all of us: Support wonderful creators, artists, makers, and those providing services this season. Take advantage of that holiday sale for that thing if you want if you can. And, if you can't know there will always be another sale. Another opportunity. With or without a sale attached. Let's save our nervous system the strain
of urgency fueled over consumption.
4.
I feel my feet on the ground. Notice my breathing. Stretch. Unlock my jaw. Drop my shoulders. Gaze at some
thing growing. Close my computer. Put down my phone. Teeny, tiny, micro soothers used liberally thought out the day. I post reminders. They have a cumulative effect. What are yours?
5.
A blessing for your week:
