Hello there,
It has been a wet and soggy
week and my brain seems to have thought it a good idea to follow suit. Putting complex ideas and plans together wasn't worth the strain of fighting the cognitive weather that just needed time to pass.
It's all a complex way to say I needed a little mental break. Not a hide-from-the-world one but a might-look-like-wasting-time kind of one. Because sometimes what looks like wasting time
will give the space you need.
As I have been witnessing around here, add too much water to already saturated ground and things get slippery and shifty and structures start to slide away. Same goes with trying to add too much information and work to an already saturated mind. A little time is needed for things to seep in.
There a lots of ways of letting letting life sort itself while you take time for a breath or two or many. Simple things that didn't require much cognitive load. It may not look like much but I have to tell you, the small and subtle can have more impact that we give them credit for.
If you need a cognitive break I highly recommend
getting simple. Even wasting a bit of time. Here is what it looked like for me as I wait for the overwhelm of things to seep in like water into wet earth.
What does wasting time that is really about giving yourself some mental space look like for you? Here is how it looks for me right now.

I didn't have a lot of words this week so I found some in magazines.
