five things friday: spring break, regimens vs jazz

Hello there,
It's time for a little Spring
Break. I'm feeling antsy to roam in meadows and gaze at blossoms. I am pulled to sweep out my garden and plant sweet peas. I want to stir new growth by tracking curiosity and forgetting about schedules and timelines. In other words, I'm taking a little work break and will be back here April 5th with more tiny thoughts and things.
It's been almost a year now that I have been taking
these quarterly-ish breaks. Before I go, here are a few things I am noticing about them. Please enjoy, and maybe be inspired to find some space for a break yourself, even if only for a few hours.
1. While I don't think of these breaks as vacations per se, they are a break from my usual routine. I am always refreshed by stepping back from regularly scheduled goings on and allowing organic time to rule for a bit. Some wild freedom does wonders my clarity and health.
2. Regimens are important and so are variations. Honoring our rhythm is our unique code of consistency. Think improvisational jazz rather than metronome.
Where can
you use more jazz?
3.
What happens in the pause space? That moment in between the in breath and the out breath? That moment of nothing/everything? Is it a pivot point, a crossroads, or something else? Will things go on a before, as (hopefully) with
breathing? Or will something different follow? A new direction or something unexpected in same direction? You need to pause, if only for teeniest of moment to find out.
4. Rest is holy, rest is vital, rest is transforming. My rest looks different than yours which looks different than someone
else's. It looks different on different days.
What ever your form of rest is, I wish you as much as you need, which may be more than you think.
5.
A blessing for your week:

May the in between spaces give you some time to hang out and notice.
