It is nearly Halloween, may even be Halloween by the time hit send on this. I can feel the veils between the worlds thinning, the days getting darker, leaving more night to explore.
While I
liked Halloween as a kid, the dressing up and candy, getting to roam the streets after dark, as an adult the day is holding more reverence, deeper spiritual meaning. Taking time to honor those that have past, to feel their unseen presence, to walk the in between spaces, there is something grounding and comforting about this.
A day where “reality” bends and princesses and knights, zombies and devils roam in seen form reminding us that the world is so much more than what it seems.
It has been years since I have dressed up for Halloween, but if I did this
year think I would become the Crone, my inner Hag. The wise, illusive one who lives on the fringes, watching, seeing, knowing her time to cross over is nearing. Embodying the truths of life that only time and living reveal. Truths that can only pass to those not afraid to ask and look. I would grey my hair, tease it out wildly, add in wrinkles, find robes of black and paint my lips the deepest blood red I could find.
This feels subversive in a culture that glorifies youth and costumes for women lean heavily into sexy/slutty territory. To quest towards age and wisdom rather than youth, Hecate rather than Aphrodite, if even for just a night.
But there is a secret of those blood red lips: They tell the tale of passion still burning, the breath of sensuous knowing keeping rhythm, the temptation of mysteries unknown to all but
her...

I have been intensely studying a system called Human Design, a synthesis of Astrology, the chakra system, Kabbala, I Ching and neutrino science. I know! Kind of wild. I have not been so taken by an esoteric system since Tarot
found me over 25 years ago. Based on information calculated from your birth information, an energetic blueprint of You is created which reflects both the practical and mystical qualities you are designed to bring to the world. I have found it revolutionary in understanding myself and those around me; giving me practical and useful ways to hear my inner wisdom, find my body knowing, take better and more honoring care of myself and my energy.
