Is Your Life Swoon Worthy?

Luscious Soulful Beauty- with some, swooning and willingness. March 21, 2014

Hello Blooming One,

The day before the first day of Spring I was on my way to meet a friend for morning tea.

I walked by this tree in bloom and I swooned a little.

Click, click, click, went my camera trying to capture the beauty of it. The color, the light, the freshness of new life, the miracle of nature, the way my body woke up in seeing it.

Of course I could at best only capture a good enough copy of the moment because it was so much more than what I could see.

The moment of heightened excitement, that instant of being taken out of myself by unabashed beauty, that moment of swooning, that is what I wanted to hold on to.

But like all moments, it passed. And that is how it should be.

I remembered I had a friend waiting for me so I snapped one last picture, took a deep breath of the ever so slightly fragranced air and plunged into the rest of my day. But the memory of the moment, of the color, the all of it, stayed with me. Is still with me. This is also how it should be.

This is how beauty changes us. But only if we let it.

How swoon worthy is your life?
How many moments of unabashed beauty do you allow in?

Sometimes it is easy to be taken away in the perfection of the moment. But many, if not most times you need to create the opening for beauty to come though. Especially if you are unpracticed in its ways.

You have to choose to seek beauty.

The good news is you don't have to be perfect. Or successful (what ever that means). You don't have to lose weight or have had your green juice this morning. Or have a clean kitchen or your taxes done, or your teeth brushed. You don't have to be feeling happy, tranquil, centered or any other way. Beauty is not something you earn or perform.

You do need to be willing to find it however.
Willing to let in a moment of beauty, maybe even enough to have you swoon a little. Willing to let the beauty change you. Shift you. Open you to the more of who you are and what the world is. The good news is that once in, beauty does all the work.

This is why you feel better after a walk in nature or having flowers in sight. This is why music will make you cry and cleans you of worry. This is why poetry opens your heart and leads you to feelings you didn't know you had. This is why art heals.

You let it in, you let it move you, let it inform how you relate to your world.

Seek out some beauty today. Seek it out, don't wait for it to stumble across you. Invite it in and let it change you. When you do, you claim a bit more of your divine womanly power and sovereignty.

Swooning optional, but highly recommended.

Happy Spring!

Sandi
