Luscious Soulful Beauty: September 22, 2016.
Happy Autumn Equinox!
I can feel the shift in the air even as we are experiencing the high temperatures of Indian Summer here. I want to cozy up with hot tea, knit good wool, make a pot of hearty soup. But with temperatures predicted in the mid 90’s this weekend (around 35 Celsius), I will most likely be indulging in iced tea, cool salads and hunting down some air conditioning to knit
in- because good wool waits for no season!
Ah, Fall in Northern California. So beautiful even as we can get some of our warmest temperatures. It is good for the wine grapes they say. Yet even as I will be seeing plenty of shorts and tank tops around town, my body feels the change in seasons. The light is more golden, the shadows longer, the morning and evening air crisp. Oh my heart, the colors of the leaves and the
vineyards!
Something comes alive in me as the nights get longer and we spiral into the dark.
It is the season of apple cider and ancestor visitations. Harvest bounty and winter preparation. The time of year when the underworld comes out of the shadows to play tricks, deliver treats and remind us that this world holds so much more than what we can
see.
Do you want to explore together?
Would you like to gather and share this season of pumpkin spice and bumps in the night? If you, like me, want to wrap up in comfy sweaters, light candles, and explore the season’s gifts along with a few of her shadows, let’s do it together.
