Well hello there,
Here we are, post election here in the States, although we still have Georgia (come on Georgia!), and the pandemic rages on. Life is reducing down to essentials in so many ways where the tiny holds such great potency, even when mundane, even when trivial, even when fleeting.
On that note, here is a little twist on my Instagram tag #fivethingstoday. Just some small musings found in the tiny moments of life.
May you make time to notice the small bits of life that can pass all too quickly.
*******
1. I've been thinking about ritual a lot lately. How ritual is were we bring things to be made sacred again. How even our unwanted habits and self sabotaging behaviors, when held in context of ritual that seeks to heal and make whole reveals our innate resourcefulness and wholeness, even when we feel broken. I get it can be quite the paradox to hold but also very kind. I'm working hard to hold good ritual and kindness
for myself, even were I feel broken.
2. It is ok, in fact essential to keep some of your energy for yourself. In case you need a reminder. Or permission. With the holiday season is in full swing and the world as it is I know I need the reminder and permission. What are you favorite ways to tend to yourself when life gets too much?
3. I keep looking for the right kind of magic to make the pain of this year go away. The magic, as I learn over and over and over again, is to feel it. The pain. The grief. The disappointment. The whole, wild unknown of it.
4. Now that the holidays are here I can indulge the sucker I am for holiday movies. My favorite this year so far is Dash and Lilly on Netflix. Charming, quirky, smart. I'll be re-watching again before Christmas. I am also a big fan of watching my favorites over and over, and over again. What are you watching right now, holiday themed or not?
5. Speaking of Instragrm, one of my recent finds that always brings a smile when he appears in my feed is Gurdeep Pandher of Yukon, @purdeeppandher. He is a bhangru dancer living and dancing in the snowy, snowy north. If you are on Instagram do you have any favorites you want to share?
Wishing you a joyful weekend,
Sandi
