Well hello there,
1. Merry and bright Christmas to those celebrating today. For most of us things look different this year. Extra hard for so many. Tradition disrupting for all I have talked with. I hope you are finding some quiet moments of rest and comfort in the midst of it all. I am thinking of you.
2. One tradition that will go on as usual is our yearly Christmas night drive through town looking at holiday lights. Alan and I bundle up, hot chocolate in a thermos, Christmas music the radio, as we seek out cheer in the dark night musing on the year that was and the one that will be.
3. For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me want to dream. -Vincent Van Gogh What are you dreaming?
5. It has been many, many years since the Church held any sway over me but I can't help it, I love a nativity scene. I've started a little collection of ones found in thrift stores. For me it is a symbol that rises above the dogma and harm of of so much of the religion built up around it. There is power in reclaiming symbols, of letting the ones that speak to you work their magic.
