Hello there,
1. These times demand engagement and doing the work of moral humanity. They also require knowing when and how to rest. I've been challenged by the how these last couple for months. My body is in heightened alert and the hits keep coming with no sign of ending any time soon. Remembering to breathe has become my newest practice.
2. Working with my emotions rather than against them is getting me through the rough places personally and collectively. Listening to the messages they have even when they are so very uncomfortable is a skill and the most essential self-care I know. This and creativity.
3. When the world becomes a massive mess with nobody at the helm, it's time for artists to make their mark - Joni Mitchell
4. What is your art? We all have it. Art is how your soul expresses itself. What holds your soul holds your art. Our art will save this world. If you think you don't have art in you, you do. You do.
5. One way art is saves me is through my knitting. It doesn't look like much yet but I am working on throw for my niece. Something cozy for her to snuggle up with in her very own first apartment, something I pour my heart and good intentions into. Never underestimate the power of comfort and the magic of something handcrafted to restore even the most weary soul. How is art, however humble saving
you?
