You may know I have a
monthly ritual of pulling a Major Arcana card from the Tarot each month. It becomes a guide, a focus of reflection, a way to learn more about the archetype and how it is moving in my life. For September, The Wheel of Fortune stepped forward.
You know when you ask someone their thoughts and what they have to say bugs you? Even though you trust them, even though they have given you
wonderful support in the past, you want to stick your tongue out at them before even considering what they say? That's me with this month's arcana. Childish yes, and I also know that when I have this reaction I am avoiding something important.
So let's dig a little deeper into The Wheel of Fortune. Maybe it has something for you also.
Shall we?

Dreaming Way Tarot by Rome Choi, art by Kwan Shina
I mean, who wants to try and spin a life out of a big knotted mess? Any yet, isn't that what things feel like right now? The thing is though that every knot has a beginning and an end. Connection it there, just not
linear. Each snarl will release given time and attention. The wheel of life is not broken because the fiber is knotted, the fiber is knotted because the spinner is out of rhythm.
It is also okay to cut ties when the time and energy to unknot the snarls demands more than you have to give. Pick up a new thread, The Wheel of Fortune keeps going around and will bringing you what is
important.
What has become knotting and is stopping the flow of of life? What is changing? Are you holding on or letting go? Do you know yet?

John Bauer Tarot by Lo Scarabeo
Know where you are in the circle of
things.
The Wheel of Fortune reminds us that we are the center of our own lives, but not the center of life.
What is the flow of life wanting you to know?
3.
The Sistine Tarot by Rose Bae
It may be the cards that determine the game but the outcome is in the way you play them.
Circumstances are real. So is luck and synchronicity. Know the cards you are dealt, learn the game you want to play with them, and let fortune reveal what is next.

The Queer Tarot by Ashley Molesso and Chess
Needham
In the wise lyrics of Blood, Sweat, and Tears' "Spinning Wheel":
So why my irritation at The Wheel of Fortune? I want change but I don't want to change. The Wheel of Fortune is inviting me to look at that paradox. Let the wheel spin, I can't stop it. Trust I can handle the knots or know how to cut them free. Find my
place in the flow of life right now. Play the cards I am dealt as best I can. Perhaps most importantly, set down what I no longer need and let the river of life carry it away. There may just be a painted pony coming my way.
Your turn. What invitation does The Wheel of Fortune hold for you?
