five things friday: morning magic and mastery 🌙✨

Â
Hello there,
Â
I woke up to the almost
full moon still high in the morning sky.Â
Â
Â
There is magical when the moon
shows her face in the daylight. While her realm and full radiance may live in the night that doesn't stop her from visiting the lesser known realm of the day.
Â
It has me think about how it is good to step out of what is comfortable and known from time to time and wander a bit where others hold expertise you do not. This led me to some musing on mastery and how it requires the humility of not
knowing and the adventure of learning, even for the well accomplished.Â
Â
Shall we?
Â
1.
Sometimes it is good to be a student in a area you already know.Â
Â
Even though I have been reading Tarot for almost 40 years (eek!!), I have put myself in the learner's seat and am taking a course in Archetypal Tarot. Â Not because I don't know how to read and not because I don't know about archetypes, depth psychology and Jung, but to deepen what I already know and discover what
I do not. So far the content is rich and leading me to all kinds of new connections and nuances in ways to view the cards and myself.Â
Â
There is magic in held space and sharing of knowledge.Â
Â
2.
Mastery requires humility to know there is always more to know.Â
Â
Every expert worth their knowledge is also always learning. Always seeking new teachers and mentors, even as they teach and mentor others. Sometimes that is through other humans, sometimes a book, sometimes the way the trees bend in the
wind.Â
Â
When learning stops, mastery stagnates.
Â
3.
There is joy in being a student.Â
Â
No matter how much I know there is
so much richness in learning from others who know what I don't about something I love. Learning is devotion in action and mastery will always invite into more of our devotion.
Â
Mastery is ongoing learning with no final destination.
Â
4.
Ah,
mastery... what a profoundly satisfying feeling when one finally gets on top of a new set of skills... and then sees the light under the new door those skills can open, even as another door is closing.

A blessing
for your week:

Â
May you release what is not supportive and nourishing with ease so that you may invite in what does.Â
Â
Before I leave you this week, a little note to say it it time for my seasonal break and rest time. I'll be back with you here on October 11th.Â
