We are in the season of
letting go. The trees are releasing their leaves and the sunlit hours are giving way to moonlit ones. Sorrow has been a faithful companion of late, showing me the things that need to be freed from my often clinging grasp.
This is a good thing. An affirming thing. A grace of living that allows us to honor the passing of what once was. And, it can hurt, disorient, or frighten before we
feel the freedom that will come. Like all rivers, sorrow has its meandering way of finding its larger home in the wholeness of life. Here are some things to remember if, or when find yourself in your own river of sorrow.
Shall we?
1.
When you find yourself in the river of sorrow, trust it to carry you to the wider ocean of your belonging.
(Universal Waite Tarot)
2.
Do not be tempted to walk across the surface, your speed will not carry you far.
(The Sistine Tarot by Rose Bae)
3.
Brave the deep where what is encountered has essential wisdom.
(The Animal Wisdom Tarot by Dawn Brunke, art by Ola Liola)
4.
Your salty tears, like the ocean waters, will deliver
you to a new shore in good time. Here you will see what was once hidden and welcome home, not what was released, but what had been lost.
(John Bauer Tarot by Los Scarabeo)
5.
A blessing for your week:
(The Halloween Oracle by Stacy Demarco, art by Jimmy Manton)
May fortune and opportunity find you as the nights grow longer.
