Well, my June break turned into
a June and July break, but I am back. I wish I could say it was for pleasant reasons. For my birthday in June I got Shingles and everything you have heard about how awful it is, is true. I am so much better, and still managing lingering pain. Because of this I may be leaning more into a "weekly-ish" schedule for five things, at least for near future.
Pain is an unpleasant but effective
teacher. It teaches boundaries, insists on deep self-care, and demands the humility to ask for help. This is not the summer I planed, but it is ending up being a pivotal time of deep listening to my body and to the dreams born in the slow time of healing.
Here are few things to share with you, from the healing space, the listening space, and the glow of late summer here in Northern California.
Shall we?
1.
I have done nothing all summer but wait for myself to be myself again —
–Georgia O’Keeffe
(From the Faraway, Nearby,)
Which self that is, is still shedding and unfolding.
2.
Golden hour is becoming ever more golden in the Golden State.
3.
Early morning walks have been soothing and very helpful with my pain. The wild dill is a gentle companion.
4.
On the subject of self-care, I am teaching Empathy and Self-Care again starting September 15th.
5.
A blessing for your week:

May you know the sacred value of filling your own cup.
