In theses times of immense
upheaval I've become very granular in my practice of gathering beauty. It is one of the kindest self-regulation practices I can think of.
It is important to say connected to the things that rejuvenate and sustain us. Especially when the intensity of
living pushes us to our capacity. Here is a bit of how it's looking for me. How might it look for you?
Shall we?
1.
Beauty awakens the soul to act.
-Dante
Alighieri
There is a need to be courageous and do hard things and fight for what is important and just. Beauty keeps alive what is so important that we would do such hard and challenging things.
2.
Finding a bit of nature for the first time.
My almost 4 year old friend Odin directed
us to this little creek in the neighborhood I had no idea was there. It is perfect for exploring.
It wont be running for too much longer now that the rain has stopped. I am extra happy to have found it now so I can make sure I visit a few more times before it dries out for the season.
Bonus: We got to have a chat with a young girl who was there collecting
tadpoles and tiny frogs. She has quite the collection of frogs and toads along with many lizards and a couple of snakes.
Seeing through the eyes of the young will activate wonder and delight in a way few other things can.
3.
The smell of jasmine though an open window.
Nothing says summer is on the way like the fragrance of flowers wafting in through a window.
